Not much to really talk about right now, everything is a waiting game. We are still preparing with the online classes much to read and learn. I try to keep up on the news in Nepal, but try not to let the political situation at this time sway our choice of country. I am taking this time to learn more about the Nepal culture, what a beautiful country, so much to learn!

Benefit Yard Sale

Okay the Benefit Yard Sale has been scheduled we are going to be at the T.O.C.O.A. building in Troy from 7am to 4pm. We hope to have lots of goodies for sale, we will also have hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soda, and water to purchase for a nice lunch with us. Hope to see you there!!!

Thanks again to all of those who have donated and offered to donate, your generosity is appreciated... I can never say it enough we do have the best friends and family!!!!

Okay have our online adoption class to start tonight.. so excited to get things moving. I would like to thank Brenda Compton at IFS (International Family Services), she has been fabulous with getting us started. Brenda is full of information and she is quick to respond to my questions. I couldn't ask for a better agency to handle my adoption. If anyone reading this wants more information on adoption you can contact Brenda at brenda@ifservices.org. She will definitely keep you updated and informed on what is going on in the adoption world. Jim and I are very excited to start our family!!!!

Random thoughts and thanks

Jim and I are very excited about our adoption, we know that we have a long road ahead of us and much to do to prepare. Of course the first step is getting approved and getting our country referral. We have chosen Nepal as our first country of choice, then Ethiopia. We have been doing alot of reading and corresponding with the adoption agency gathering as much information as possible to be informed. We were referred to IFS and I must say they are amazing and keep the information flowing you want for nothing. They have been extremely helpful whenever we have questions, and are always quick on their responses. Of course we are nervous, scared, and excited all at the same time. It is hard not to get too many steps ahead, right now I concentrate on the first step as best I can and that of course is getting everything done for the application and getting it in for approval. Please keep us in your prayers as we will need the strength as we move through the processes. I want to take time to thank everyone for their well wishes and congrats. Everyone has been so great, we really do have the best friends and family ever!!!!! We love you all!!!!!

Fund raiser options

Okay.. needing some feedback on this one.. we are looking at the following fund raisers to help w/ the adoption fees. Let us know if you think we will have good response... appreciate the help

• Dance w/ live band or dj... w/ a 50/50 raffle
• Trivia night or dinner with silent auction

If you have any ideas on other ways to raise funds please let us know..

Plans for the yard sale are underway 9/12 is the date.. location and time to be posted later once we find a location.

The first Step

Yesterday we assembled some of the family together that we could and told them of our decision to start the process to adopt. We are very excited, but we also know that this will be a long process but with the support of our friends and family it will be a journey we will never forget! We do not know what the outcome will be but we are ready to take the step to starting our family. As most of you know I can not concieve and Jim and I have talked about adoption several times over the years. In our earlier years we weren't ready for this step and now it feels right! Jim and I hope you will follow along on our journey, I will post as often as possible to update happenings on how everything is going, how we are feeling, all the fun stuff... I will post all of our fund raiser information would love for anyone and everyone to join us at these events and celebrate! Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts.
